Student Dress Code

The dress code is in place to promote a safe environment that is conducive to learning. Students who are found out of compliance with the dress code will be asked to call home to bring appropriate clothing or retrieve replacement clothing from the counseling office if available. Students who have repeated dress code violations may receive school consequences for non-compliance.

Students should dress in a manner that is not disruptive to the learning environment. Any dress that causes disruption to the learning environment is not permitted. Specific restrictions include the following:

  • No bandanas are allowed in the buiding.
  • Hats and hoodies may be worn in the hallway, but must be removed if requested by the classroom teacher.
  • Clothes that show undergarments and/or body parts that are considered private are not allowed.
  • All attire must be free from references to alcoholic beverages, tobacco, illegal drugs, and gangs.
  • No offensive, vulgar, political, or profane statements or visual advertisements are allowed to be worn or displayed.
  • Blankets, pajamas, and bedroom slippers are not permitted.
  • It is required that students have appropriate shoes for PE.
